Carolina Balloon Festival Reviews

I had a nice time at Carolina Balloon Fest overall, but I’m glad I went in knowing it might involve some waiting. The morning balloon launch was really once they finally got moving, and the nighttime glow was easily my favorite part. Parking and the crowds were a bit of a hassle, and the food lines got long, so I’d definitely bring water, snacks, and a little patience next time. Still, it was a fun day out and I’d probably go again.

There was a ton of food to pick from, which is great but also slightly overwhelming because of course I wanted to try everything. The little vendors were really cool too, with a nice mix of stuff to browse while walking around. my only rant is that places like this make it way too easy to spend more time and money than you planned. Overall, really fun spot with good food and a neat vendor setup.

The festival looked like it would’ve been a great time, but the weather turned messy fast and the cancellation info came way too late. I kept checking for updates and it just felt unclear for longer than it should’ve. Weirdly, I remember standing there watching someone’s bright yellow poncho basically turn into a kite in the wind. Not a terrible experience overall, just frustrating because clearer updates earlier would’ve made a big difference.

I spent way too much of my time just trying to get in. Traffic was crawling, the parking signs didn’t make much sense to me, and I felt like I was stuck there forever before I even got to enjoy anything.

I bought tickets thinking it would be a fun day out, but it really didn’t feel worth the price. Admission was already expensive, and then once we got inside it seemed like every little thing had another charge attached to it. Maybe that’s the idea, but it definitely felt like they were trying to squeeze more money out of people after already charging a lot to get in. I wouldn’t buy tickets again

We took the kids along for the day, it turned out to be a really nice family outing. The balloons were definitely the main attraction, and they were just as cool as you’d hope, especially seeing how excited the kids got. If you’re going mainly for a relaxed day with children, I think it’s a great pick.

There was enough going on besides the balloons to keep everyone entertained, which helped a lot. The food lines did get a bit long at times, so I’d probably plan around that next time, but it wasn’t a dealbreaker. The music was fun, the crowd felt friendly, and we felt safe walking around. For a family day out, we’d happily go again.

We went in thinking it would be a fun day, but after maybe the first hour or so, the crowds started getting really frustrating. The lines were all sort of blending together, and it seemed like a lot of people weren’t sure where they were supposed to go.

Some areas felt way too packed, especially around the food stands and bathrooms. I saw staff here and there, but they didn’t seem to be guiding people much, so everyone was kind of just guessing and squeezing through.
The bathrooms were probably the worst part. Trash was overflowing in a few spots, and they looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in quite a while. We ended up leaving sooner than we thought we would because it just wasn’t worth dealing with the stress
